DHL Supply Chain to invest $400 million to expand U.S. pharmaceutical and medical device distribution network

DHL Supply Chain, the U.S. subsidiary of Deutsche Post DHL Group, announced that its Life Sciences and Healthcare division (LSHC) will spend $400 million this year to expand its pharmaceutical and medical device supply chain network by 27% - equivalent to an increase of nearly 3 million square feet.

 

The new investment includes the construction of six new sites in the United States by the end of 2022, and increased investment in infrastructure, equipment and related technologies. With this investment, DHL Supply Chain's LSHC sites in the United States will increase to 34, including Atlanta, Cincinnati, Memphis, Reno and Lebanon, Pennsylvania. In addition, the new sites will provide temperature-controlled space that supports pharmaceutical storage requirements to meet the high-quality needs of drug storage and transportation.

 

It is reported that DHL Supply Chain has many services in the LSHC field, including warehousing, secondary packaging, managed transportation and end-to-end supply chain management services. It is also the fastest growing area of ​​DHL Supply Chain.
