Request to stop production and sales! Three "Made in China" children's toys on Amazon UK site have problems

According to foreign media reports, the Wiltshire Trading Standards Bureau in the UK has recently issued a warning to the public, saying that three "Made in China" children's toys sold on the Amazon platform pose serious health risks and may even cause cancer, and requires consumers to immediately stop using and purchasing them. Each product has been marked by a trading standards officer for immediate recall.

The first defective product is reportedly the Baobe baby carrier model 606 sold through Amazon, which could cause babies to fall to the ground when used.

A spokesman for Trading Standards said: "The product presents a serious risk of injury after testing found that the fasteners connecting the shoulder section to the body of the product could come loose and the product could break after five cycles of use. This could cause harm to babies and young children as the harness could become detached while the product is in use, causing the baby or young child to fall to the floor. The product does not comply with the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005."

The Trading Standards Agency warned that buyers are advised to stop using the product immediately and contact the dealer you purchased it from to request a remedy. The product has been removed from online marketplaces such as Amazon.

The second product is a children's percussion toy set storage backpack, also made in China and sold through Amazon UK. The product is a yellow backpack with green trim that contains many musical instruments. The product number is ASIN: B01N4M7ARJ and the outer box number is Y26-80300-08-SKU.

Trading Standards warned that the product posed a high chemical risk because the backpack contained excessive amounts of phthalates, chemicals used to make plastics more durable.

Children playing with the toy are exposed to phthalates, which can potentially harm children's health through cancer or non-cancer effects. The product does not comply with the requirements of the REACH Implementing Regulation 2008 (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals), and the product has been removed from online marketplaces such as Amazon.

The third product is a Chinese-made telescopic ladder sold on Amazon UK under the DayPlus brand, with lengths including 2.6m, 3.2m and 3.8m.

Trading Standards warns that the product poses a serious risk of injury to users. When tested, the ladder failed the functional dimensions, pre-conditioning, beam bending, strength test, rung strength and rung pull-out test strength, and torsion test for tilted ladders. The product does not comply with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.
