According to a new survey of more than 700 U.S. adult consumers by online recipe site Chicory, 41% of respondents said they plan and purchase meals both offline and online, while 22% purchase directly online, bringing the total number of online grocery consumers to almost 60%.
The study pointed out that online consumers place greater emphasis on brand and store loyalty. 93% of respondents consider specific brands when creating shopping lists, and online-only consumers are 14.7 times more loyal to the same grocery store.
According to the survey, the first driving factor that makes consumers decide to change brands is price (52%), and when consumers consider repurchase, price is still the primary consideration (32%), followed by taste (21%) and nutritional health (13%).
Chicory CEO Yuni Same said that according to the latest survey, online consumers are more loyal than physical store consumers. Due to the particularity of the meal category, the multi-channel combination of recipe websites and online grocery platforms will become a popular trend in the future.
