Compared with 2019 before the epidemic, there has been an increase (in August 2019, it increased by 7.6% year-on-year, and the total value of freight goods was 105.1 billion US dollars).

It is reported that by mode of transportation: in North American cross-border transportation in September, trucks had the largest freight volume, an increase of 15.9% year-on-year, and a total of US$70.5 billion worth of goods were transported, an increase of 6.8% compared with US$66.1 billion in August 2019; railway freight volume ranked second, transporting a total of approximately US$15.4 billion worth of goods in September, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year, and a decrease of nearly 4% compared with US$16.1 billion in August 2019.

It is learned that by country: in September, cross-border freight volume between the United States and Canada increased by 21.9% year-on-year, with a total freight volume of approximately US$56.8 billion; the total cross-border freight volume between the United States and Mexico was US$56.3 billion, an increase of 20.1% year-on-year. It is worth noting that pipeline transportation volume between the United States and Canada increased by 88% year-on-year, transporting more than US$7.9 billion in goods.
