In 2012, Hootsuite released a traditional Chinese version supporting Sina Weibo. A month and a half later, it launched a simplified Chinese version supporting Renren.

In 2013, HootSuite announced the acquisition of TwapperKeeper.com. After the acquisition, HootSuite will integrate TwapperKeeper's core service into HootSuite.

In 2014, Hootsuite acquired social analytics solutions provider uberVU and social media campaign planning tool Brightkit, and acquired Zeetl, a startup that interacts with voice calls and social media.

Financing

HootSuite was founded by Invoke Media in 2008 and raised $2.9 million in its initial public offering. Its shareholders include Hearst Interactive Media and venture capital firm Blumberg Capital.

In March 2012, HootSuite received $20 million in investment from Canadian venture capital firm OMERS Ventures.

In March 2013, HootSuite announced that it had completed a $3 million financing round. Investors included the newly joined Millennium Technology Ventures, as well as Blumberg Capital, Hearst Ventures, and Geoff Entress, which had previously invested $1.95 million in the company.

In 2013, HootSuite raised a total of $165 million in Series B funding.

In September 2014, the company completed its latest round of financing of US$60 million, which was led by a new investor headquartered in Boston, followed by venture capital firms such as Insight Venture Partners, Accel Partners and OMERS Ventures.
