Canada Post and Purolator plan to hire thousands of new employees to increase delivery speed during peak season!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Canada Post recently stated that it will hire more than 4,000 new employees, add 1,400 freight trucks and add more than 2,000 parking spaces to increase the speed of package delivery to cope with the surge in packages during the peak shopping season. At the same time, Canada Post will also use heart sorting technology to handle packages in post offices, warehouses and processing plants.

Canada Post spokesperson Valérie Chartrand said that in the two weeks before Christmas last year, Canada Post handled 20 million parcel transactions, and the shortage of workers caused some parcels to be unable to be delivered to consumers in time. Now that the shopping season is approaching, global supply chain problems continue to worsen. In order to ensure that parcels can reach the recipients more quickly and safely, Canada Post will work hard to expand its delivery team and provide faster and safer delivery.

On Thursday, Purolator, a courier company in which Canada Post holds a 91% stake, also announced it would hire thousands of new employees. Purolator also predicted that the number of online packages is expected to reach 54 million between the beginning of November and the end of December, which will hit a record high.

It is learned that the Canadian government is closely monitoring and testing major ports in Canada. The Canadian government said that the supply problems of home appliance parts, semiconductors and electronic products are the most serious, and it is recommended that retailers start holiday promotions early and consumers shop in advance.
