It is learned that according to foreign media reports, DHL plans to increase its holiday peak season transaction volume by 35% year-on-year. The company said it has prepared for the plan in advance and intends to launch holiday promotions earlier this season.
The company also announced this week that it will invest $300 million over the next five years to expand its logistics network in the United States.
DHL currently has 19 distribution centers and three corporate offices in the United States, with 4,200 employees. The company said it will focus 100% on providing domestic and international shipping services for B2C sellers.
In a press release on Monday, DHL also said it is increasing automation at all of its U.S. distribution center facilities and upgrading its IT operating system platform. In addition, it is investing in dedicated export gateways for international shipments in New Jersey, Illinois and California.
