Tarad is a Thai online shopping website that also provides an e-marketplace and advertising tools for customers. Products sold by Tarad include fashion +, trade, clothing, cosmetics, jewelry, digital cameras, mobile phones, computers, laptops, etc.



About Tarad


Tarad.com was founded in 1999 by PaWoot Pongvitayapanu as an online B2C e-commerce marketplace, Tarad claims to be the oldest e-marketplace in Thailand.


From the perspective of individual customers, Tarad's operating model is similar to eBay or Rakuten.


Tarad's revenue channels mainly come from online platforms, transactions, advertising, education and other services.


Development History


-Tarad was founded in 1999.


-In 2009, Rakuten acquired Tarad.com for US$35 million, after which Rakuten held a 67% stake and Pongvitayapanu held the remaining shares.


- In October 2013, Tarad launched their first gay promotional program "Fitness and Muscle Growth" to encourage young men in Thailand to get healthier and stay in shape.


-In April 2016, its founder and president bought back all shares from Rakuten and changed the website name back to Tarad.com. After this acquisition, Tarad aims to become a "one-stop service solution provider for SMEs and large enterprises in Thailand."


-In March 2018, TCC Group, a Thai beverage, real estate, industrial, agricultural and retail conglomerate, said it would acquire a majority stake in Tarad.com, Thailand's leading domestic e-marketplace operator, to expand its presence in the country's e-commerce market.
