1. Introduction to FundRazr

Fundrazr's crowdfunding site, which launched in Canada in 2009, includes an embedded Facebook app that allows users to set up their own crowdfunding pages on the social media site to raise money for positive social causes such as medicine, memorials and rescue operations. One benefit for activists is that Fundrazr charges a low 5% fee regardless of whether the campaign is successful, but also charges a 2.9% fee on all transactions. Fundrazr also offers a separate section for nonprofits.

Fundrazr was founded by Daryl Hatton in Vancouver. In order to run a campaign with Fundrazr, activists must have a Paypal or Wepay account.
