OWNDAYS, a retail brand under Owndays, is the first fast-fashion optical glasses brand from Japan. It designs and produces optical glasses by itself and sells them to consumers in a similar way to "clothing retail" - the brand uses the thinnest aspherical lenses to ensure that customers can pick up their goods within 20 minutes after payment. Even for glasses of other brands, lenses can be replaced at OWNDAYS. In addition, Owndays also has Amber, Junni, Air Fit, Chiichisaku, Calmo and other brands. Founded in 1989 Industry Glasses

Development History

Since 2013, Owndays has begun to expand beyond its home country and into the Southeast Asian market. It is now the most internationalized optical eyewear brand in Japan. To date, the brand has two business models: direct-operated stores and franchised stores. It has a total of 257 stores in 11 Southeast Asian countries and regions, including Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan, China, of which 115 stores are located in Japan.

In August 2017, Japanese eyewear brand Owndays opened its third physical chain store in Thailand in a shopping mall in Bangkok.

In November 2018, L Catterton Asia, the Asian branch of L Catterton, the world's largest consumer goods private equity investment company, recently announced that it would join hands with Mitsui & Co., Principal Investments Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MCPI"), an investment subsidiary of Japan's Mitsui Group, to acquire Japanese fast fashion eyewear chain Owndays. The specific terms of the transaction have not yet been announced. After the transaction is completed, the existing management team of Owndays will remain in their original positions. The addition of new shareholders will enable Ownday to further increase its market share in the Asia-Pacific region and add 500 stores in the next five years.
