Advantages: It can quickly increase the number of reviews and boost sales;

Disadvantages: direct reviews can be easily deleted, resulting in the listing being shut down, and in the worst case, the account may be closed.

Note

1. Direct comments do not exist for long and may be deleted at any time.

Because Amazon’s deletion rate of direct reviews has been increasing in recent years, it is hard to say whether direct reviews will exist for a long time or a short time, or they may be deleted at any time. However, there is no doubt that direct reviews can increase product conversion rates when they exist.

2. Don’t give too many direct comments, as you may be restricted from commenting.

Although it is easier to obtain direct reviews than other review methods, you should understand the risks of direct reviews before you use them. The most important thing at present is to reduce the number of direct reviews as much as possible, and follow Amazon's rules to leave reviews to avoid being caught in the crossfire. If your account has already held millions of FBA inventory, it is not recommended that you use direct reviews, otherwise it will not be worth it if your account is blocked.

3. Direct comments are suitable for small accounts or accounts that have not been making any progress.

Because direct reviews have a high risk of being deleted, if you want to increase the review star rating and weight by posting direct reviews, or if you have to leave direct reviews, you can use a small account to test whether there is a risk of direct reviews. In any case, you must not post a large number of direct reviews on your main account.

Related regulations

First point: If the product review given by the buyer is judged not to comply with Amazon's review rules (it may contain evaluation or promotion assistance, etc.), Amazon can decide to delete (removed) or reject (rejected) the message. Once the message is deleted or rejected, the buyer will not be able to leave a review for the same product again, even if the content of the review is different.

Second point: Product reviews can contain links to other products sold on Amazon.

The third point: Buyers living under the same roof can only leave one message for the same product; multiple messages are not allowed.

Fourth point: Each buyer (not reviewer!) can submit five direct reviews per week, and the number of direct reviews each week starts from 12:00am UTC on Sunday and ends at 11:59pm UTC on the following Saturday. This rule does not apply to Vine Reviews, electronic/physical book products, music and video products.

Fifth point: If Amazon finds multiple product reviews on the same product within a short period of time, Amazon may set a limit on the number of direct reviews for that product.

Big Events

Amazon closed direct reviews on its US and European sites in late October 2017. At the same time, regular VP reviews could not be displayed on the review page, and only five-star reviews were allowed. It was later confirmed that this was due to an Amazon system upgrade.

Amazon began to delete direct reviews in large numbers in late October 2017, and indicated that each buyer (not reviewer!) could only submit five direct reviews per week.
