Did the “gift card” review request lead to store closure? Sellers, please give us some advice!

If Amazon wants to sell new products, it must have several reviews to render the page. Therefore, although Amazon has been deleting various false reviews and even reviewing accounts where the number of reviews and feedback does not match, sellers still find ways to increase reviews.


Previously, Amazon had banned third-party sellers from asking buyers for positive reviews. Sugar-coated bullets were not allowed, and explicit or implicit words were not allowed to appear in emails , so everyone quietly chose to do it in secret. Recently, a seller raised the question of " whether to put gift cards in the product ", which attracted many sellers to participate in the discussion.

To be honest, gift card review solicitation is not a new practice. The usual practice is to put a card inside the goods, with a message like " Want $3 cash back? Just leave a five-star review or feedback for our listing on Amazon and email us a screenshot to get cash back ."



However, most sellers said that this method no longer works. Amazon prohibits sellers from using box inserts and product packaging that induce buyers to give positive reviews. Sellers are even more prohibited from placing gift cards or promising cash back or providing rewards . If sellers are discovered by Amazon, they will be warned at best, and their stores may be closed in serious cases! Then another seller came up with a new trick...



In response to this, many sellers said that the situation on Amazon has been tense recently, and they do not recommend taking risks with a large size, but they can test the waters with a small size.


Some sellers also said that they would not dare to try it easily even if they had a small account. In the case of the European site, once Amazon targeted them, the VAT of the five countries would be lost .
