[Breaking News] Policy changes! Amazon no longer accepts individual business registrations

“Amazon no longer accepts individual business registrations”

Recently, a seller was rejected by Amazon when registering as a sole proprietor. After appealing, he learned that: the relevant documents have been reviewed, but the verification cannot be completed, and the seller's account will not be activated because "sole proprietor registration is not accepted."

Some sellers also asked the investment manager and received the reply: The news is confirmed to be true. Amazon's global sites will no longer accept registration applications from individual businesses. They will be rejected directly at the first instance. Those who have successfully registered in the past cannot be activated if they have not activated their sales accounts.

This policy change was very sudden, and many sellers will choose to expand the scope in order to move up to a higher level next year. In addition, Amazon's policies have changed too much in recent years, and if you are not careful, your store will be shut down. Individual business accounts are easier to operate. Basically, Amazon sellers have some individual business accounts.

"I will have a video interview on Wednesday and there is a high probability that I will be rejected."

"Amazon's registration threshold has been raised year by year. Previously, individuals could register, but three or four years ago, individuals could no longer register. You had to be a self-employed business owner or a company. Now, self-employed businesses have become a thing of the past..."

“I feel like a lot of old shops will die in the future…”

Now Amazon encourages sellers to build brands, and different brands require different stores. The demand for stores has increased, but unexpectedly, Amazon not only did not relax store registration, but tightened it instead.

This also means that if Amazon sellers want to register a new account, the procedure will be much more complicated and will face stricter review. Fortunately, the accounts that have been successfully registered and activated by individual sellers in the past can operate normally, but it does not mean that they are completely safe.

NANA recommends that all registered individual businesses be changed to company registrations. Given Amazon's nature, the number of third-party sellers far exceeds that of its own stores. Amazon wants to reduce the number of weak third-party sellers, and there is a high possibility that a round of review will occur, requiring registered individual business sellers to re-upload their company business licenses.

Of course, this is just NANA’s speculation. Amazon’s policies are unpredictable, and we have to observe how the situation will develop in the future. Sellers should also have a sense of crisis.
