Amazon launches big welfare policy, Temu has overbearing commission terms

During the National Day holiday, Amazon was not idle and released a new policy: the pricing structure of the Vine plan will be adjusted!

Amazon's big benefits policy

Recently, according to a message released by Amazon, starting from October 19, 2023, Amazon will introduce a new pricing structure for Amazon Vine.

The new plans come in three price ranges: $0, $75 and $200.

  • $0 (New Tier): Register up to 2 products per parent ASIN and get up to 2 free Amazon Vine reviews.

  • $75 (new tier): Register up to 10 products per parent ASIN and receive up to 10 Amazon Vine reviews.

  • $200 (current range): Register up to 30 products per parent ASIN and get up to 30 Amazon Vine reviews.

High-quality reviews are very important for products. Only by obtaining high-quality reviews can a product have a chance to stand out.

According to the previous Vine program, Amazon would charge sellers a one-time registration fee of $200 as soon as each parent ASIN received the first Vine post. Now that the new pricing structure has been released, the threshold for the Vine program has been lowered, allowing more small sellers to participate.

According to Amazon's announcement, this Amazon Vine program policy will take effect on October 19.

Special note: Once a price range is determined, the seller cannot change it. Please choose carefully.

While Amazon was giving out benefits crazily, Temu was forcing sellers to "agree" to commission terms.

Temu ends 0 commission era

Temu has started charging "commission" to sellers (suppliers)!

I have said it before, the so-called 0 commission traffic generation will not last long. No matter which platform it is, it will not be able to withstand it. Sure enough, Temu started to charge a commission, 0.5 points.

This commission fee is charged in the name of the customer service outsourcing service agreement.

“Party A has the right to charge a service fee based on the amount excluding tax (including credit) actually paid by the user under the store order × 5‰.”

“1. The seller “actively” entrusts: Party B (the merchant) entrusts Party A (Temu) to provide customer service outsourcing services for Party B’s store, and Party A agrees to accept Party B’s entrustment;

2. The fee is directly linked to the order amount. The service fee is calculated based on 5‰ (five thousandths) of the actual payment amount (excluding tax) of the user;

3. After the order is cancelled, the service fee must still be paid. If the order is cancelled, the seller cannot ask Temu to refund the paid service fee. "

Many sellers said that they could only tick the "Agree" button on this notification, otherwise they could not perform other operations. Sellers were forced to agree to this "unfair clause".

Pure overbearing clause!!!

I'd like to see how many sellers can hold on.

Although the cost of the Vine program has been reduced, small sellers can also try to participate in this program, but not all the reviews are good. In the end, the essence is the quality of the product itself and the service. If the quality is not particularly good, it will have a counterproductive effect.

At the beginning, too many people praised Temu for how easy it was to do business and how many orders it had. To put it bluntly, they were just cutting the leeks in the early stage. When the leeks are best grown and most valuable, they will cut them directly. We still have to look at the old e-commerce company Amazon.

<<:  The autumn sale is coming, but it will trigger a ban crisis?

>>:  Is Temu suspected of stealing user information? How long will this "vampire" behavior continue?
