Black Friday hits record high? Can Cyber Monday continue its success this year?

This year's Cyber Monday sales have increased slightly compared to Black Friday. Online retail analysis agencies such as Adobe have raised some of their peak season sales expectations. Black Friday's current sales data has reached a record high of US$9.12 billion, an increase of about 2.3% compared to last year's Black Friday.

Electronics sales were the highest, up 221% from the average in October. Toys and fitness equipment also saw strong sales during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday periods.

Adobe predicts that online e-commerce sales on Cyber Monday this year will reach 11.2 billion US dollars, maintaining a growth rate of about 2-5% compared with last year. In terms of growth rate alone, this year has declined, but fortunately there has not been a setback that Adobe had previously worried about.

There are many reasons why Cyber Monday is more worth looking forward to. In previous surveys by foreign media, most consumers said that they would still choose to place online orders on Cyber Monday, because the day before Black Friday is Thanksgiving, and people are more likely to enjoy the holiday and life, and shopping in malls the next day is also one of the ways to do so. Therefore, the number of online shoppers on Black Friday is not as high as that on Cyber Monday.

However, according to the information I collected from the sellers’ group, the inventory situation this year is generally not optimistic. On the one hand, Amazon has cut its inventory capacity as the event is approaching, making it difficult for sellers to ship goods. On the other hand, sellers have chosen a conservative inventory strategy in anticipation of the event. Some sellers are already planning to raise prices and reduce advertising budgets to maintain inventory.

However, there is an unexpected situation here. The bug that prevented some sellers from displaying exclusive discounts during Black Friday has not been fixed. This problem started last Thursday, and until now, sellers still occasionally report exclusive bugs, which greatly affects sales during the promotion period.

Please note that exclusive discounts may be suspended for other reasons, such as out of stock, too low rating, price lower than the set minimum price, discount duplication, etc. These are not caused by bugs. You should make targeted adjustments based on the error reports prompted by the backend and resume normal sales of exclusive discounts as soon as possible. Here are some common exclusive error reports for you.

The effect of Black Friday Cyber Monday this year can be said to be quite good. Don’t let the free activities be interrupted due to failure to handle them in time, resulting in loss of orders. Keep an eye on the status of Prime exclusive discounts in time, and handle them according to the error reports.
