Emergency! Europe suspends FBA orders! Can products on the US site still be sold?

After banning all non-essential products from entering FBA warehouses on Tuesday, Amazon today urgently announced more stringent epidemic response measures, suspending all non-essential orders from sites in Italy and France.

That is to say, if your product does not belong to the category of essential products classified by Amazon, consumers will not be able to place orders to buy your product. Amazon will spend its limited transportation capacity on delivering essential products. Therefore, this policy is only effective for products using FBA, and sellers can still use the self-delivery model for sales.

During this period, all affected FBA inventory will be directly removed from the shelves and will be displayed on the "Repairing Amazon Inventory with No Sales Information" page as "Inventory Under Review". Non-essential categories generally refer to all categories except the following six categories .

For all inventory that has been removed from the shelves as a result, no storage fees or LD fees will be charged. This is currently only valid in Italy and France. Inventory stored in other European sites such as the UK and Germany will be sold normally.

However, the situation in several other EU countries is not optimistic either. Europe as a whole is on the brink of a major outbreak due to untimely response and is likely to follow this strategy later.

Europe has upgraded its epidemic prevention and control measures, not only prohibiting non-essential goods from entering warehouses, but also prohibiting them from being sold. Will the US site, which has a larger number of sellers, take any major action? Will it also directly remove non-essential goods from the shelves?

Strict countermeasures of the US station

There is currently no official notice from the US site to ban the sale of non-essential items, but our students have found that the delivery dates of all non-essential products on the front desk have been significantly extended, and almost all orders have been postponed to one month later.

I thought the delivery time was extended because the zip code filled in by the buyer was in Seattle, which was a hard-hit area. But after changing several zip codes, it was the same: as long as the product you ordered was not one of the six essential categories, the delivery would be delayed.

This is definitely not good news, but compared with Europe's direct removal policy, it is still slightly better. American consumers can still place orders normally and wait for delivery after a month.
