How to find an off-site promotion website that suits you

How to find such promotional websites through competitors? Today I will introduce several methods to you:

1. Use Ahrefs

Step 1: Find the link to your competitor’s product detail page on Amazon.

Of course, if you search through different channels, the URLs you get will be slightly different.

For example, I go to the catalog of the Anker store, go to "audio" → "speakers", and click on the first Bluetooth speaker.

The product URL link is as follows:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Soundcore-Portable-Bluetooth-Playtime/dp/B016XTADG2

However, if I search for the keyword "Anker Bluetooth Speaker" directly in the Amazon front-end search box and enter the product details page, the URL link I get is like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Soundcore-Portable-Bluetooth-Playtime/dp/B016XTADG2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1528097741&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=Anker+Bluetooth+Speaker&psc=1

According to Amazon's algorithm, when entering the product details page through different channels, the link address will change accordingly. This is also an important algorithm for Amazon to track traffic sources.

So when there are so many forms of links for the same product, which link should I put?

You can just extract the information from the url like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016XTADG2

Step 2: Put the link in ahrefs and analyze “backlinks”

What is a backlink? It refers to all the external links pointing to the URL you want to query.

For example, there are two websites, A and B. Now I put a link to website B on a page of website A.

Then for website B, the link on website A is the external link of website B.

You can also understand it as the form of "friendly links" that we usually see.

Because we know that when doing off-site promotions on Amazon, the final purchase page still has to return to the Amazon product details page. The promotion website will definitely have a button or link to direct customers to the Amazon platform.

So although we are looking for off-site promotional platforms, we are actually looking at which promotional platforms are making external links to Amazon.

Step 3: Filter out-of-site promotion platforms from external links

In the search results, we can see many promotion channels, including alliances, review websites, promotional websites, etc. We can look for those promotional websites in a targeted manner, analyze the posting conditions of the corresponding platforms one by one, and find websites that meet our brand positioning and product characteristics.

Of course, when using this tool, you should also think divergently and look specifically at which platforms your competitors generally promote their products on, how they promote them, whether they prefer to find affiliate bloggers, or prefer review websites, or whether they focus their main energy on promotional websites.

Second, use Google Advanced Search

Usually our search habit is to directly enter keywords in the search box to search, which is convenient and simple;
But the results of advanced search will be more precise

I personally think the three filter conditions in Google Advanced Search are very practical, especially when looking for off-site promotional websites.

The three filtering conditions are: voice, region, and last updated time.

If my Amazon is a US site and I want to find a US promotional website, then I will set the region to the US and the language to English;

I want to find out the promotions of my competitors within a day, week, month, or year, and I can do this based on the "last updated" filter.

The search terms can be in the form of: "Competitor brand name + product main keyword + deals"

The specific instructions are as follows:

The search results are as follows:

Finally, we can analyze the promotional websites we are interested in and make further promotional plans.
