Comparative survey between Amazon and Temu platforms: 76% of American consumers value Temu's low prices


It is learned that recently, according to foreign media reports, Probolsky Research conducted a study on American consumers shopping on Amazon and Temu. The results showed that Temu was more popular in terms of price, while Amazon was superior in shipping speed and product variety.


The study surveyed 340 American consumers who had shopped on Amazon and Temu in the past year and asked them to compare the two platforms based on a number of factors. The results are as follows:


Price: 76% of consumers believe Temu’s pricing is cheaper than Amazon, making it more attractive for budget-conscious shoppers.

Shipping speed: 81% of consumers say Amazon delivers faster.

Product Variety: 45% of consumers believe that product variety is similar on both platforms, while consumers who believe that the retailer has a wider product selection mostly prefer Amazon.

Return policy and customer service: 50% of consumers think that Amazon has better customer service, 45% of consumers think that the services of the two platforms are similar, and only 5% of consumers think that Temu’s customer service is better.

Reviews: 58% of consumers attach equal importance to reviews on both platforms, 32% of consumers believe that reviews on Amazon are more important, and 10% of consumers believe that reviews on Temu are more important.


Additionally, according to a separate Piper Sandler Companies survey of U.S. teens, with an average age of 16, Amazon was the highest-rated shopping platform among teen shoppers (55%), while Temu ranked fifth, with only 2% of teen shoppers naming it their favorite shopping platform.
