Walmart and SmartKargo team up to promote GoLocal delivery service!

Walmart has announced a partnership with air cargo management platform SmartKargo to provide GoLocal delivery to customers, according to foreign media reports. The online giant hopes to speed up its next-day and two-day delivery services through this move.

Walmart launched the GoLocal delivery service in 2021 to help other retailers deliver goods to consumers. The service is designed to strengthen Walmart's last-mile transportation network and its ability to compete with companies such as Instacart and DoorDash.

Through this partnership, Walmart GoLocal will benefit from SmartKargo's powerful logistics network. SmartKargo works with major U.S. airlines to provide more than 2,500 flights per day, enabling retailers across the country to deliver packages from the East Coast to the West Coast within two days and the next day without the need to use multiple distribution centers.

With SmartKargo, Walmart can speed up the delivery of inventory from distribution centers to customers’ doorsteps, offering fast next-day and two-day delivery services to other retailers and Walmart Marketplace sellers, according to Eliza Wendel, senior director and head of sales and business development at Walmart GoLocal.

Walmart said at the time of the launch that it would quickly expand the GoLocal service to deliver to more retailers. In addition to SmartKargo, Walmart has also partnered with e-commerce platform provider Cogentry Labs to provide GoLocal delivery to medium-sized and independent grocery retailers. Walmart has also settled in the Delivery Solutions platform as a last-mile delivery service provider.

It is learned that Walmart currently provides GoLocal delivery for the following major retailers: American home furnishing giant The Home Depot, clothing retailer Chico's FAS, and the second largest bookstore chain Books-A-Million.
