A survey of US pet owners' purchasing trends! These products are in high demand...

It is learned that according to a survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) (once every two years), there was a boom in online shopping for "pet supplies" in the United States at the beginning of 2021. The purchasing habits and behaviors of pet owners have undergone new changes.

According to the APPA survey, 20% of owners (cat and dog) will buy pet food online, 26% will buy it in supermarkets, and 39% will buy it in pet supermarkets.

Dog owners are more likely to buy premium dog food (41%) than basic and regular dog food (39%). Cat owners are more likely to buy basic and regular dog food (37%) than premium dog food (24%).

It is reported that owners usually buy food for their pets that contains natural (19% for dogs and 18% for cats), grain-free (14% for dogs and 11% for cats), organic (10% each), non-GMO (19% for dogs and 16% for cats), and personalized and customized diets (4% each). In addition, food with environmentally friendly packaging (12% for dogs and 15% for cats) is also popular.

Additionally, pet owners purchase foods with special formulas for weight control (11% each), digestive health (20% for dogs, 18% for cats), coat and skin (20% for dogs, 11% for cats), indoor air (42% for cats), and hairball management (17% for cats).

It is worth noting that before the epidemic, 50% of dog owners said they would buy other pet products online, including toys, clothes, bedding, etc. The proportion of cat owners was lower, at 48%.
