Jualo.com was founded by Chaim Fetter in 2014. At the time, he had only 15 employees, including web developers. The initial team consisted of five people.

Jualo.com innovated the buy-sell e-classifieds concept in Indonesia by launching escrow payment, geo-search and home delivery 3PL integration.

In early 2016, the company had millions of visitors per month and hundreds of thousands of new product public listings. Jualo.com attracted Series A funding from Singapore-based NSI Ventures and Susquehanna International Group. Existing investors include Indonesia-based venture capital firms Alpha JWC Ventures and Mountain Kejora.

In April 2017, João Pedro Principe, who joined Jualo.com in June 2016, took over as CEO.

Jualo.com has a close relationship with the non-profit organization Yayasan Peduli Anak (YPA) as they share a common founder. Jualo.com provides operational support to YPA in Jakarta, while YPA operates mainly in Lombok and Sumbawa.

In 2018, Jualo.com had 4 million monthly active users and facilitated $1 billion worth of transactions. In the same year, the company was acquired by Carro (a Singaporean e-commerce company).

In March 2020, Manisha Seewal became the CEO of Jualo.com.
