In particular, Shanghai Pudong Airport was on the Weibo hot search list because of the continuous diagnosis of multiple staff members. On the evening of November 22, Shanghai Pudong International Airport also organized all relevant personnel to undergo collective nucleic acid testing, and all personnel in the cargo area where the epidemic occurred participated overnight.

Today, there are still several hot searches on Weibo about Pudong Airport due to confirmed COVID-19 cases among its staff.



On November 9, Wang, who worked as a porter at the cargo terminal of an airline in the western area of ​​Pudong Airport, was diagnosed with COVID-19, which attracted widespread attention in the cross-border circle at the time. Subsequently, new confirmed cases appeared one after another, and they were all related staff in the cargo area:

On November 10, a case named Lan was confirmed in Yingshang County, Anhui Province. He was engaged in airport cargo handling work at Shanghai Pudong Airport together with Wang, a confirmed case in Shanghai on November 9 .

On November 20, Shanghai added two new confirmed cases, one of which was Wu Moumou, a security inspector at the West Cargo Station of UPS Shanghai International Transshipment Center at Pudong Airport .

On November 21, Shanghai had a new confirmed case , Wang , who was a colleague of Wu at the West Cargo Terminal of UPS Shanghai International Transshipment Center at Pudong Airport .

On November 22, Shanghai added 2 local confirmed cases. One of them was Cao, a colleague of Wu, who was confirmed on November 20, at the Pudong Airport West Cargo Terminal .

As of November 23, the number of confirmed cases among Pudong Airport staff has increased to 5.

Some sellers said that since a UPS Shanghai PVG employee was diagnosed with COVID-19, starting from November 23, UPS East China cargo will be transferred to Shenzhen Port for export. The impact caused by this is that the delivery time is delayed!



Some freight forwarders also expressed their frustration: "The epidemic in Shanghai has had a great impact on shipments in East China."

While shipments in East China are affected, the global logistics situation is not optimistic. There are also problems with containers, which are closely related to transportation speed: there is still a large gap in domestic containers.

"Containers are piling up, there's less and less space to put them, and it's simply impossible for all of us to keep up with the pace of so much cargo," Gene Seroka, executive director of the Port of Los Angeles, said at a news conference recently.

When an MSC ship arrived at APM Terminals in October, it unloaded 32,953 TEUs at one time .

According to the latest news from HELLENIC SHIPPING NEWS, the Port of Los Angeles handled more than 980,729 TEUs in October, an increase of 27.3% compared to October 2019.

Gene Seroka also said: "On average, for every three and a half containers imported from abroad to Los Angeles, only one container is filled with US export goods and leaves the port, and the rest are stranded in the United States." That is to say, 3.5 US freight boxes went out, but only 1 box came back .

At the same time, a freight forwarder said that there were a bunch of ships waiting for berths on the sea surface of Los Angeles Bay, which shows how dense it is.
