Recently, Amazon announced that it will launch a fully managed supply chain management service called "Supply Chain by Amazon" in the United States in October. The service will be launched first in the United States at the end of October, and is planned to be expanded to global markets by the end of the year. Amazon's fully managed supply chain service integrates resources such as AGL, AWD and PCP to provide sellers with a one-stop solution from product pickup to last-mile delivery. According to Amazon's official explanation, the core functions of the service are:
The service not only helps sellers optimize inventory layout, simplify operational processes, and significantly speed up product delivery, but sellers who choose the fully managed option are expected to see an average sales increase of 20%. Currently, hundreds of thousands of sellers use at least one of these services, and in the first half of 2024, the number of sellers using multiple services at the same time has tripled. For sellers who choose to use fully managed supply chain services, Amazon offers attractive discounts: 25% discount on AWD storage fees and 15% discount on AWD shipping handling costs. Note that sellers can choose to use this supply chain service based on their needs, or continue to manage their supply chain themselves. It is worth mentioning that Amazon has launched similar managed supply chain services before. For example, last September, Amazon introduced the MCD (multi-channel distribution) function in AWD. Here are some other new features Amazon is introducing for supply chain services:
cost: Amazon's supply chain services shipping, warehousing and fulfillment costs depend on the weight and size of your inventory. Although this service seems to have obvious advantages, sellers still need to evaluate it carefully. They should comprehensively consider the overall cost changes, weigh the charging standards of each service item, ensure that it meets their own cost budget and economic benefits, and choose the appropriate supply chain management method according to the characteristics of their business. In addition to fully managed supply chain services, Amazon has recently upgraded its FBA return policy . According to reports, Amazon recently launched a new product return management option for FBA sellers in the United States, namely "Rating and Resale" . Previously, this feature was only open to retail brands, but now it also applies to independent FBA sellers. Specifically, when the goods are returned to the Amazon Return Center, Amazon will conduct a strict quality assessment and divide them into four levels according to the condition of the goods: "Like New", "Very Good", "Good" and "Acceptable" , and then put these graded goods back on the market for resale. In addition, the policy also integrates a number of value-added services, such as professional product support, FBA refund-only service, and FBA donation options , to provide US FBA sellers with a more comprehensive and flexible return processing solution. Relevant research reports show that 47.1% of consumers consider the convenience of return and refund procedures when shopping online. It is not difficult to find that the perfection of return and after-sales service also affects product sales, conversion rate and even customer loyalty to a certain extent. This policy is based on this perspective to help merchants improve customer satisfaction and reduce additional return costs. |
