Like its competitor Google, Amazon has also launched an AI-powered video generator, but it is currently only aimed at advertisers and can be used for seller advertising creation!


Amazon Advertising announced a new feature on September 19, 2024 that uses generative AI technology to make it easier for advertisers to create more interesting and relevant video ads for customers. The new feature is called "Video Generator"


This section currently has two major landing functions! If sellers use it well, they can not only hire one less artist, but also increase exposure and increase the number of orders. The most important thing is that it is free!


01 New function Video generator


It claims that only a single product picture is needed, which will be converted into a video display of the product after certain processing.


The video generator is based on Amazon’s image generator technology and can automatically generate multi-scene story videos based on product details and customer reviews.


It can also be customized based on product unique selling propositions and functional planning, and visually rich video content can be created in minutes without additional costs.



One seller revealed that the produced video clips are 6-9 seconds long and have a resolution of 720p (24 frames per second).


The videos are automatically generated "around" seed product images -- "inspired by the product and its details," the spokesperson said -- and take up to five minutes to create. Users can choose from four variations.



Amazon said that Video generator can quickly transform product images into video clips, aiming to enhance the emotional connection between shoppers and brands. The tool is integrated into the Amazon advertising workflow and provides creative solutions for small and large brands.


The second is a new real-time image function - Live Image.


This feature can generate a few seconds long animated GIF from a still frame , allowing sellers to quickly create short animated advertising campaign images!


It’s part of Amazon’s Image generator, an AI-powered image generation suite for marketers.


On the Amazon advertising platform, sellers only need to select the product and click Generate. This built-in Amazon tool will use generative AI to generate a set of pictures with life scenes and brand themes based on product details within a few seconds. Sellers can then optimize the images by entering text!




This is equivalent to the generative AI doing all the work of the artist, saving the salary of an operator.


It’s important to note that Amazon did not provide a sample of the video generator or reveal technical details about the tool and Live Images.


Currently, both features are only being tested with a select number of US advertisers and will undergo a period of fine-tuning before a wider release.


However, Amazon also stated that it will improve the functions based on the feedback from sellers participating in the test, so the launch of these two functions is basically a done deal.


Some sellers believe that like all generative AI systems, there are risks in using these tools.


Video generation models are trained on a large number of video samples to learn patterns in those videos to generate new clips. Some vendors train models using copyrighted videos without the permission of the owners or creators, and when these models are used to ironically reproduce copyrighted stills, it can expose users of the models to intellectual property lawsuits.
