What is Amazon Project Zero? Amazon Project Zero Review

Amazon Project Zero is a new program launched by Amazon on February 28, 2019, to eliminate counterfeit products from its website. Once approved, brands that join Project Zero will be able to directly mark and remove counterfeit listings of their products on the Amazon website themselves.

Project Zero Reasons

Amazon said: We continue to work hard to combat counterfeits, but the fact is that the number of counterfeits today is still not zero.

In 2018, Amazon caught more than three billion suspicious listings. Some of them may have been removed from the shelves before consumers even saw them. Even so, countless counterfeit products still reached consumers.

In order to combat counterfeit goods, Amazon continues to launch transparency programs and Report a Violation. However, it still takes several weeks for counterfeit goods to be removed.

If counterfeit goods are copied during the peak season, the sales loss could easily be in the millions.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems and make it easier to combat counterfeits, Amazon launched the Project Zero zero-tolerance program this year.

Project Zero combines three capabilities to combat counterfeiting:

1. Automatic protection function

Brand owners provide the characteristics of their own products to Amazon robots to learn. The automatic protection function will continuously monitor and remove suspicious products on the scanning platform, with the number of scans reaching 5 billion per day.

2. Self-service anti-counterfeiting tools

Allows brand owners to remove counterfeit products without having to report to Amazon. In addition, the products removed by the tool will also be reflected in the automatic protection function, which can help Amazon improve the accuracy of counterfeit product monitoring.

3. Product serialization

Brand owners can generate a unique barcode for each product and print or affix it to the product packaging so that Amazon can scan and confirm the authenticity of each transaction. The combination of automatic protection and serialization helps speed up the removal of counterfeit products.

It is reported that Project Zero has been launched in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, and Japan is the first Asian country to launch it.
