Development History

Since its launch in April 2016, Go-Jek's digital wallet Go-Pay has been welcomed by most Go-Jek users. In just half a year, Go-Pay's user penetration rate has ranked fourth in the mobile payment market.

In May 2018, after obtaining an electronic payment license from Bank Indonesia, Go-Pay, the cashless payment service of Indonesia's leading ride-hailing platform Go-Jek, will continue to expand its QR code payment business in the country.

In August 2018, Go-Jek announced that its payment platform Go-Pay had connected to Indonesian startup Warung Pintar to provide cashless payment channels for more family-run stores.

In January 2019, Go-Pay acquired Philippines-based fintech company Coins.ph for $72 million — a move it believes will help expand financial inclusion in the country.

In February 2019, Go-Pay transactions reached $6.3 billion, which is equivalent to nearly 70% of Go-Jek’s total transaction volume. Go-Pay is also one of the payment methods for Go-Food, the largest food delivery app in Southeast Asia.
