Company Introduction

ZIM China Co., Ltd. was established in 1998 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ZIM China Co., Ltd. The company has developed a comprehensive service network system with 30 branches and representative offices across the country.

Origin of the name

The name "ZIM" was proposed by David Remez, Israel's first Minister of Transportation, based on a passage in the Old Testament (Numbers 24:24). In the original Hebrew, "Zim" means "big ship". ZIM Shipping uses this as a reference to express its ambition to build a world-class fleet.

In China

At present, ZIM has established branches or liaison offices in Dalian, Yingkou, Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Lianyungang, Nanjing, Shanghai, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shekou and other places, and has established agency outlets along the Yangtze River in Chongqing, Wuhan, Zhangjiagang and other places to provide customers with a wide range of container shipping services. While vigorously developing export business in mainland China, ZIM has been committed to developing import business and has currently undertaken imports from America, Europe, the Mediterranean, West Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, Japan, the Middle East and the Black Sea to mainland China.

ZIM Introduction

ZIM is one of the world's largest container shipping companies. On June 24, 2020, ZIM launched its first e-commerce express ship from Shenzhen Yantian Port to Los Angeles, USA! It only takes 12 days to sail directly to Los Angeles, USA, which will become the fastest shipping route from South China to Los Angeles, USA. The full English name of the new route opened this time is The New Speedy ZIM eCommerce Xpress (abbreviated as ZEX).

Development History

In February 2012, ZIM received a $50 million capital injection from its parent company, Israel Corporation, which also promised to inject a second tranche of capital before the end of the first quarter.
