What is ACN? ACN Review

ACN (Australian Company Number) is a 9-digit code for company registration. All companies in Australia must register ACN, which is equivalent to domestic business registration. The number is usually printed in three groups of three digits. It must be quoted on all letters and invoices issued by the company.

Registration Information

1. Three names (in English) for the company to be registered in Australia, two of which are alternative names.

2. The company's registered address in Australia, contact number, fax number and email address. If the address is rented, the name of the lessee must be provided to confirm that the lessee agrees to use the address as the company's registered address.

3. Personal information of the Director (date of birth, place of birth, current address, contact information including telephone number and email address).

4. The nature and direction of the company’s proposed business in Australia.

5. Personal information of the directors or shareholders of the Australian company (if it is not a one-person company): date of birth, place of birth, current address, contact information including telephone number and email address.

6. Personal information of the Australian company’s secretary, Secrecy (date of birth, place of birth, current address, contact information including telephone number and email address).

7. Detailed distribution of shares of directors or shareholders of Australian companies. The default number of shares is 100 shares and the share price is set at AUD 1 per share.

Application time

Register Australian Company Number (ACN) - 28 working days (normal) or 60 minutes (expedited, additional expedited fees apply).

Example

ACN 000 000 019, 007 249 989, 005 749 986

ABN 53 004 085 617

serial number

The ACN is generated using an algorithm and the last digit is a check digit, allowing the number to be verified.

The ABN is generated using an algorithm where the first two digits are used as a check digit.

The last 9 digits of the ABN do not always conform to the ASIC ACN algorithm, for example the Australian Taxation Office ABN 51 824 753 556.
