Founder of Helicap

David has a decade of experience working in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and Nomura. This career fueled his passion to transform the way businesses and consumers in Asia access credit. Prior to Helicap, David founded 33 Capital, a tech-focused investment firm: he secured innovative fintech platforms in lending, payments and credit – paving the way for Helicap’s mission – to provide public financing to underserved borrowers in Asia. He is a graduate of University Scholars (USP), with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and a semester abroad at the University of Southern California. He also holds a certification in Fin Tech: Future Commerce from MIT (MT), Australia.

Quentin is a seasoned private equity/venture capital and alternative investment professional with over a decade of experience in the Southeast Asian market. Prior to founding Helicap, he was the Managing Partner of venture capital firm 33 Capita, and the Deputy CFO of MC Payment, a regional fintech company providing omni-channel payment solutions, where he met his co-founder David Z Wang. Prior to that, Quentin was the Executive Director of Bongo Capita.

Jeremy is a Director of Gain Capital, a family business and family office in Singapore, and a Director of JL Capital, which manages a multi-billion dollar global macro hedge fund. Throughout his career, he has spent considerable time in both the front and back office and has pioneered the launch of structured bond funds; and has launched multiple new funds in different jurisdictions including Singapore, Delaware, Cayman Islands, Mauritius and Cyprus. Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Technology Entrepreneurship from the National University of Singapore. In 2004, he first met David Z Wang, the co-founder of Helicap.

In addition to the funding, Helicap also announced a partnership with Nufin Data, which will use the latter's cloud technology to better reduce fraud and credit risks.

In September 2018, Helicap completed a $5 million Series A investment, led by early-stage venture capital fund East Ventures and Singapore real estate group Soilbuild Group Holdings. The new funds will be used to expand the core team and develop the Indonesian market.
