Many sellers in other categories could not help but gloat over the misfortune. As a result, many sellers have recently raised questions, how could the fire in the city gate affect innocent people?


Many sellers complained that their product listings , which have nothing to do with epidemic prevention supplies, such as clothing, paper towels, cosmetic cotton pads, toys, outdoor products, kitchen supplies, etc., were identified by Amazon as protective supplies such as masks and blood oximeters and were removed from the shelves.

Many sellers expressed their innocence and helplessness after receiving the removal emails.


For some sellers, the products that are banned from selling are the main source of the company's sales. It takes a long time to file a complaint, and the customer service response did not offer any solutions, telling the sellers to just wait. As a result, the sellers are currently forced to accept the removal of the products, and have to bear the immeasurable losses incurred during the complaint period.


Some sellers said: The goods sent to FBA are still on the way. If the appeal is still fruitless, what will happen to the goods when they cannot be put into storage?


Some sellers also said: the product was first judged as an insecticide, and after deleting sensitive words, it was judged as a protective product such as a mask. The appeal was not responded to, and there is still a pile of inventory left, which is very worrying.

It is innocent for a completely unrelated product to be judged as a protective product, the long appeal process is helpless, and the losses caused make the sellers even more worried.

Sellers are complaining: Amazon’s robots are amazing!


Unrelated products were identified as masks and blood oximeters. Apart from the Amazon robot’s misjudgment as the seller believed, are there any other reasons?


One seller posted on Weibo: This wave of blood oximeter sweeps is too brutal, it is simply a disaster for innocent people. How many BSRs in the clothing category have become dogs!


The seller was a clothing seller, but received an email because his product was removed from the shelves. The email stated that the reason for the removal was a blood oximeter.


So I guessed that the sensitive words in the listing were triggered, and asked for help in finding the sensitive words for the blood oximeter.

The seller's speculation is not without reason. Previously, a home furnishings seller said that he had put a chair on the shelf but it was judged as a pesticide and was removed from the shelf.

Later, when we opened a case, we found that some attributes in the seller’s listing contained sensitive words related to pesticides. Once the seller’s listing contains certain sensitive words and is automatically detected by the system, it will be forcibly removed from the shelves.



By the same token, some sellers’ listings may contain sensitive words related to the attributes of masks and blood oximeters, which may be detected by Amazon and removed from the shelves.


In addition to the above situations, a seller said: the product was spoofed, medical sensitive words were added, the front desk turned into a dog, and the back desk showed that the product was restricted.


After contacting customer service, I found that the word "mask" was changed to "mask" on the background editing page. After the seller deleted the sensitive words, the link came back, but the ranking of core keywords dropped a lot, and the comments were not merged back.

Some sellers even said: "I have a lot of say in this topic. Several links have been messed up three times. They turned into dogs, appealed, turned into dogs again, and appealed again. This has been going on for a month." Fortunately, the seller's keyword ranking and weight did not change after the link appeal came back.



There are many sellers who have encountered medical sensitive words added to their products. So who is doing this? Many sellers point the finger at some unscrupulous VC account sellers.


Sellers speculate: Under the epidemic, many sellers' products have exploded, so unscrupulous VC sellers have carried out malicious attacks by modifying the listings of innocent sellers, adding sensitive words to listings, etc., and enhanced the competitiveness of their own products through this malicious competition.


Based on the above situations where sellers' products are judged as protective products, some sellers speculate that the following reasons may be the reasons why unrelated products are judged as protective products such as masks and blood oximeters, for your reference:

1. Amazon robot misjudged;
2. The seller's product does trigger sensitive words related to epidemic prevention supplies;
3. The seller’s product was spoofed by VC sellers by adding sensitive words such as epidemic prevention supplies.


Regarding the above situation, many sellers said that the solution is to open a case to ask customer service, and then retrieve the link according to the customer service’s guidance.


Since there are currently a large number of sellers whose products have been identified as protective products and their links have become disabled, there may indeed be a situation where customer service is slow in handling the situation.


So regarding the step of opening a case, some sellers also provided their experience:

1. Find more customer service staff. If the customer service in China is not good enough, find a foreign customer service team.

2. If one isn’t enough, find a few more, and it’s best to find customer service via email, as they may be better at solving problems.
