Breaking news! Qantas announces suspension of flights to mainland China, please be aware if you are flying with these airlines

When the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the epidemic in China was classified as PHEIC, or "Public Health Emergency of International Concern" level.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that Australia has upgraded its travel advice to the highest level four "do not travel" following the coronavirus outbreak.

Australia's largest airline, Qantas, announced that it will suspend flights from Sydney to Beijing and Sydney to Shanghai from February 9, 2020 until March 29, 2020.

 

It is understood that due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus, many airlines have suspended flights to and from China.

 

Several airlines have suspended flights to China or reduced flights


[United Airlines] will cancel a total of 24 flights between the United States and Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong from February 1 to 8.


[American Airlines] Cancel flights from Los Angeles to Shanghai and Beijing from February 9 to March 27. During this period, it will continue to operate Chinese routes from Dallas-Fort Worth and Los Angeles to Hong Kong.


[Delta Airways] will reduce the number of weekly flights to China by half from February 6 to April 30.


[Air France] Suspended flights to Wuhan from January 24, and reduced flights from Paris to Shanghai and Beijing to one flight per day.


[Lufthansa Group] From now until February 9, all flights of its subsidiaries Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines and Austrian Airlines to and from mainland China will be suspended. Flights to and from Europe and Hong Kong will continue as scheduled.


[British Airways] Suspends all flights between the UK and mainland China. Currently, British Airways has suspended all daily direct flights to Beijing and Shanghai before March.



[Air Canada] Suspend international flights between Canada and Beijing and Shanghai between January 30, 2020 and February 29, 2020.


[Finnair] will cancel the three weekly flights between Helsinki and Beijing Daxing International Airport from February 5 to March 29, 2020, and the two weekly flights between Helsinki and Nanjing from February 8 to March 29.


[Two Indian airlines] Indigo will suspend flights from Bangalore to Hong Kong and from February 1 to February 20, and flights from Delhi to Chengdu from February 1 to February 20; Air India will suspend flights from Delhi to Shanghai from January 31 to February 14.


【Cathay Pacific】 Cathay Pacific has suspended all flights between Wuhan and Hong Kong. From January 30 to the end of March, it will reduce flights to and from the mainland by 50%, and has issued a cabin service adjustment notice for all flights to and from the mainland, suspending the supply of personal items such as towels and blankets.


[Lion Air] Lion Air of Indonesia will suspend flights to China from February 1.


[Myanmar’s three airlines] Myanmar National Airlines, Air KBZ and Myanmar Airways International will suspend flights to China from February 1.


[Asiana Airlines] will suspend flights to Guilin, Changsha and Haikou from February 1.


[Two Singaporean airlines] Jetstar Airways will suspend flights to and from the Chinese cities of Hefei, Guiyang and Xuzhou from January 31. Scoot announced on January 29 that all flights to and from Singapore and Wuhan will continue to be suspended until the end of March.


[Air Mauritius] From January 31, 2020, the two weekly flights to Shanghai will be suspended; flights to Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore will remain normal.
