A container ship loaded with Chinese goods caught fire in the waters off Los Angeles

Recently, the PRESIDENT EISENHOWER , a container ship owned by France's CMA CGM and loaded with Chinese goods , suddenly caught fire in the engine room shortly after it left Los Angeles for San Francisco!

The fire was put out by the crew members on board, and no injuries were reported so far . However, the accident caused the PRESIDENT EISENHOWER to stop sailing and lose power !

After the fire, the PRESIDENT EISENHOWER drifted 20 nautical miles off the coast of Santa Barbara! The U.S. Coast Guard responded and sent a vessel to assist.

It is reported that the PRESIDENT EISENHOWER, where the fire occurred, is currently serving Eagle Express X (EXX), a well-known American boutique route under CMA CGM .

Eagle Express1 calls at two major domestic ports, Qingdao and Shanghai , and is one of the most popular express lines from Northeast China to the western United States .

It is expected that this fire accident will have a significant impact on the ship's sailing schedule. Foreign trade freight forwarding companies that have already loaded or plan to load the PRESIDENT EISENHOWER on the next voyage should communicate with the shipping company in a timely manner to understand its latest sailing schedule changes!

A seaman jumped off the ship, triggering a 30-hour manhunt before surrendering himself

A crew member who jumped ashore from a cargo ship in northern Queensland in violation of Australian border restrictions sparked a 30-hour manhunt before the man handed himself in to police.

According to local Australian media reports, the man escaped from the hold of the Polaris 3 cargo ship carrying livestock and then jumped off the ship, which was docked in waters near Townsville in northern Queensland.

After the man came ashore, he left the port in a white van and has not been seen since.

Australian Border Force (ABF) officers launched a massive manhunt over the weekend to find the man who allegedly breached international quarantine regulations and crossed into Queensland.

The cargo ship left China's Huanghua Port on April 12, with Australia as its destination, and docked in Townsville on April 29. The incident sparked dissatisfaction among the remaining 11 crew members on board. When they heard that the man had escaped, they also got off the ship. But they still stayed at the port and did not violate quarantine regulations.

Queensland Police confirmed on Monday the man had handed himself in to Townsville Police Station. He has been detained and will be handed over to Border Force officers for possible prosecution.

Earlier, Queensland Health said in a statement to 9News that "the crew are being tested for the virus, and the risk to the community is low." The remaining 11 men refused to reboard the ship and asked Australian authorities to grant them asylum. Queensland Health has tested all 11 men for the virus, and Border Force officials are closely monitoring the situation.

17 yuan/KG to redeem goods? The latest development of Fengbang Logistics’ cargo seizure incident

Some time ago, the Fengbang Logistics cargo detention incident broke out. 56 containers were detained, more than 300 sellers, and hundreds of millions of goods were involved . So far, the accounts payable are 12 million, accounts receivable are 3 million, and the deficit is 9 million . The solution given by Fengbang Logistics is: customers make up the difference to redeem the goods.

The cargo owner received a mediation plan, which required him to advance the cost of 22 yuan/kg to Fengbang. If the payment was not made within the time limit, it would be deemed as an automatic waiver of the cargo rights. The industry was shocked. The price increase of ocean freight was far inferior to this. The idea of "abandoning the cargo rights" was a depth bomb. Later, the cargo owner disagreed and the plan was not implemented.

A few days ago, a new mediation plan was announced, and the charging standard was changed to 17 yuan/KG . The rights protection group was in an uproar again. "Everyone was cursing." said a cargo owner involved.

A cargo owner revealed that six people have paid the price of 17 yuan, but more people disagree and the situation remains deadlocked .
