US logistics will increase again? USPS announced a temporary price increase starting in October

As we all know, the increase in online logistics caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has brought pressure to logistics. The United States Postal Service USPS announced that it will temporarily increase prices from 12:00AM Central Time on October 18th to 12:00AM Central Time on December 27th this year!



On July 1 of this year, USPS launched a new pricing structure for the transportation of low-value small packages , raising international freight rates for multiple origin and destination postal systems, resulting in a significant increase in cross-border shipping costs for those using USPS shipping consolidators.

However, the price increase again after two months is very different from the previous ones, and it mainly targets mail parcels within the United States .

According to the USPS notification:

1. Package select destination delivery units, return services and light plans will increase by 24 cents;
2. FCPS business plan price increase of 25 cents;
3. Priority Mail AD, Package Select Ground, DSCF and DNDC plans will increase by 40 cents;
4. Priority Mail Express Business plans to increase prices by $1.5.



In general, this price increase will relieve a lot of economic pressure on USPS, but it will also increase the delivery price of online products in the United States, which will increase the cost of package delivery for sellers in the United States.
