More than 80,000 tabletop stoves recalled due to burn risk! Available on Amazon and other platforms

It is learned that on October 17, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of tabletop stoves sold by Colsen due to the risk of serious burns .

It is understood that the recalled products are Colsen brand indoor and outdoor tabletop stoves. The stove consists of a concrete open container for holding burning liquid alcohol. The stove includes seven styles, namely gray, black, round, rectangular, hexagonal, square and skull shapes, ranging in size from 5 inches to 18 inches, and comes with a fire extinguisher printed with the "Colsen" brand name.

CPSC pointed out that alcohol flames may not be detected, and there is a risk of sudden flames and personal injury when refilling alcohol. In addition, during use, fuel may splash, overflow or leak, causing flash fires, which may spread rapidly, produce larger and higher temperature flames, and increase the risk of fire.

Between January 2020 and July 2024, about 89,500 units of the product were sold on Colsen's official website, Amazon, Walmart, Wayfair, TikTok, SharperImage, FlipShop, Grommet and other platforms, with prices ranging from US$40 to US$90. So far, CPSC has received 31 reports of fire spray and flame escape, resulting in 19 injuries.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled stoves and dispose of them. They cannot be resold or donated in violation of federal law. It is reported that Colsen stopped selling the product less than a year after acquiring the business and is unable to provide any remedies to consumers due to financial constraints.
