It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of Insignia brand air fryers and air fryer ovens. The reason for the recall is that the product may overheat during use, causing the risk of fire and burns.

The recall reportedly involves Insignia digital air fryers, Insignia analog air fryers and Insignia digital analog air ovens, with capacities ranging from 3.4 to 10 quarts and bodies made of plastic and stainless steel. The following are product images:

The recalled models include NS-AF32DBK9, NS-AF32MBK9, NS-AF50MBK9, NS-AF53DSS0, NS-AF53MSS0, NS-AF55DBK9, NS-AFO6DBK1 and NS-AFO6DSS1. The brand name INSIGNIA is printed on the top or front of each device, and there is also a rating label on the bottom of each device, marking the INSIGNIA brand and model.

It is learned that the recalled products were produced in China and were sold in Best Buy stores and online websites www.bestbuy.com, www.eBay.com, and www.google.com from November 2018 to February 2022. The prices ranged from US$30 to US$150. Approximately 635,000 units were sold in the United States and approximately 137,000 units were sold in Canada.

Best Buy has received 68 reports of accidents from U.S. consumers and 36 from Canadian consumers. The reports said that the air fryer or air fryer oven caught fire, burned or melted. Among them, there were 7 reports of property damage and 2 reports of injuries, including a child's leg injury.

The remedy for this recall is that buyers need to return the product to Best Buy for a full refund. At the same time, Best Buy is actively contacting all buyers to provide them with return instructions.
