92% of US imported Christmas decorations come from China!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, most of the Christmas decorations and lights imported into the United States come from China and Cambodia.

 

The United States imported more than $2.5 billion in Christmas decorations last year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. China accounted for 92% of those imports.

 

The agency said the United States imported more than $460 million worth of Christmas lights in 2020, with Cambodia accounting for 60 percent of the imports. Vietnam accounted for about half of the taper candles imported into the United States last year, followed by Canada at more than 20 percent.

 

In December 2020, U.S. department store retail sales were $14.6 billion, down 20% from December 2019. Online shopping and mail-order store retail sales in December 2020 were estimated at $96.2 billion, the highest monthly sales in the past year.
