For this reason, the White House announced that it will monitor the progress of products entering and leaving the ports through the supply chain dashboard, a digital platform that will be updated every two weeks in an attempt to alleviate the problem of cargo backlogs at ports.

Before the dashboard appeared, the complicated supply chain raised costs for retailers and online sellers, and the supply of everything from cars to clothing to toys was in trouble. US media said that the current strong shopping demand and purchasing power in the United States have almost reached the level before the outbreak of the new crown, but the supply chain problem is still very serious.

To address the continued busyness at ports like Los Angeles and Long Beach, California, and the truck driver shortage, the White House’s supply chain disruption task force has worked to loosen freight regulations and persuade ports and railroads to operate around the clock.

It is learned that in the first two weeks of October, California's two major ports unloaded 379,000 containers, bringing the total unloaded in 2021 to 8.1 million, breaking the record set in 2018.
