Recently, BigCommerce announced a partnership with financial technology company Sezzle to launch BNPL (buy now, pay later) services. Small and medium-sized BigCommerce sellers will now be able to offer interest-free payment services to support smart, risk-free shopping for consumers, including high-risk borrowers and some young consumers with weaker financial capabilities. Through this service, Sezzle will become BigCommerce’s payment widget. Consumers will be shown Sezzle when the BNPL option is enabled. Sezzle will collect 25% of the order price from consumers, and then automatically pay an additional 25% in three installments over six weeks. BigCommerce sellers can receive full payment in advance after consumers pay. The BNPL market is also getting hotter. It is reported that more than 45 million people aged 14 and above in the United States want to use BNPL services this year. 60% of American shoppers have used BNPL when shopping online, and more and more sellers are adopting BNPL services on their e-commerce platforms to meet customer needs.
