The 2021 Fortune Global 500 is out! Walmart tops the list for eight consecutive years!

It is learned that on August 2, Fortune magazine released the 2021 list of the world's top 500 companies. In the list of the top 500 companies ranked by revenue, Walmart topped the list for the eighth consecutive year, China State Grid ranked second, and Amazon ranked third.

China (including Hong Kong) has the largest number of companies on the list again, 11 more than last year, reaching 135. Including the data from Taiwan, the total is 143. The United States has a total of 122, and Japan remains stable with a total of 53. The top 500 are distributed in 220 cities and 31 countries/regions around the world. This year, there are 23 female CEOs in the Fortune Global 500, an increase of 9 from last year.

The Fortune Global 500 companies account for more than a third of global GDP, generating $31.7 trillion in revenue (down 5% year-on-year) and $1.6 trillion in profits (down 20% year-on-year).

With a net profit of $57 billion, Apple (No. 6) is the most profitable company on the 2021 Fortune Global 500, replacing Saudi Aramco (No. 14), which had been the most profitable company for two consecutive years.


It is learned that Amazon, Alphabet, Facebook, as well as China's JD.com, Alibaba Group, Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Xiaomi Group are all on the list. Among them, Xiaomi performed the most impressively, with its ranking jumping to 338th, up 84 places from last year.
