Amazon launches new features to support first spring promotion

Amazon North America is launching its first spring promotion this year, which will start from March 20, 2024 to March 25, 2024. This promotion is no longer limited to Prime members. Dear sellers, have you received a large number of orders?

During this spring promotion, all products participating in the limited-time flash sale will be marked with the "Big Spring Deal" logo. However, in the front-end search display, the promotion logo is "Limited time deal". Only after clicking on the product and entering the detail page will it be displayed as "Big Spring Deal". Sellers jokingly call this an enhanced limited-time flash sale?

In addition, Amazon did not provide a special discount entrance for Prime members during this spring promotion, so sellers who failed to participate in the limited-time flash sales were unable to set up special Prime member discounts.

This means that fewer products with logos will be displayed on the front desk. If Amazon increases its publicity efforts, traffic will definitely increase significantly, so many sellers may have a huge increase in orders.

Recently, new rules on coupons have come into effect, and many sellers are troubled because they find that many products cannot be set with coupon discounts because the discounts are too low.

This new rule actually forces sellers to lower their transaction prices, gradually squeezing their profit margins. However, Amazon is best at giving some sweetness while striking, and immediately launched a new discount feature.



New "price discount" for some accounts


Some sellers revealed that a price discount was added to the advertising options in the main page options of their accounts.

Official explanation:

A price discount is a limited-time campaign where you can offer a discounted price for a product for up to 30 days and supply a certain amount of stock at the discounted price. Price discounts will be displayed as a strikethrough price on search results and product detail pages for products with a verified reference price.

Sellers can set the number of products that participate in the discount, with a minimum discount of 5%. After success, a strike-through price will be directly displayed on the front desk. If your product has no reference price, the strike-through price will not be displayed, as shown in the figure:

Whether the new price discount feature can help sellers significantly increase sales remains to be seen, but in the face of new coupon regulations, the new discount feature can still give sellers one more try ; in addition, brand customized discounts are also a direction that can be tried.



Brand customization discount


Amazon launched the brand customized discount feature last year. As coupon discounts are currently difficult to set up, it has become a new discount channel for many sellers.

The two new promotion tags in the picture below, “Follower Promotion” and “Exclusive Promotion”, were both created using the “king” tool – “Brand Tailored Promotion (BTP)”!

Branded discounts are a type of promotion that brand sellers run for a specific group of people. Sellers can already set up customized promotions for their brands and offer exclusive deals to consumers who follow your brand.

Branded Promotions (BTP) allow you to create exclusive discount offers in the form of promo codes to attract high-intent customers within branded audience segments, such as Brand Fans, Repeat Customers, Recent Customers, High Spenders, and Non-Payers. You can also acquire new customers through the newly launched “New Customers” segment.

Currently, some sellers are trying this discount, and the results are very good, especially for products with high repurchase rates. This discount has no reference price requirements or discount size requirements.

Just follow the steps below to enter the Brand Tailored Promotion (BTP) tool: log in to the Amazon Seller Platform, click "Advertising > Manage Promotions", enter the "Manage Promotions" page, and click "Brand Tailored Promotions". Sellers can try it out right away!
