Tatcha is an American brand developed, produced and manufactured in Japan. The founder of Tatcha is Victoria Tsai, a Chinese American girl whose ancestral home is Taiwan. Tatcha was founded in 2009. The inspiration for Tatcha's skincare products comes from a collection of manuscripts in Kyoto at the end of the Edo period that recorded the skincare secrets of geishas at that time. Development History

On August 18, 2020, Tatcha, a Japanese high-end skincare brand under Unilever, announced its entry into Tmall International, marking its first entry into the Chinese market.

In 2019, Unilever acquired Tatcha for US$500 million.

In 2017, private equity firm Castanea Partners acquired a minority stake in Tatcha.

In 2017, Tatcha completed 1 million school days of donations, including teaching materials, classrooms, life skills tutoring, etc., to help girls grow.
