The first John Lewis retail department store was opened by founder John Lewis on Oxford Street in London in 1864. John Lewis Oxford Street store started as a cloth business and opened its second store " Peter Jones " in Sloane Square, London in 1905 , which was managed by John Lewis ' son John Spedan Lewis .

Development History

Since 2007, John Lewis has produced a Christmas advert every year, which is broadcasted in major media outlets across the UK during the Christmas season.
