Multiple FBA warehouses are about to go on strike! These categories are promising in the future

Recently, foreign media broke the news that the German Verdi Union is organizing a large-scale Amazon worker strike! The strike will start on Sunday and last for at least 4 days! It will affect several Amazon FBA warehouses!

According to Verdi's speech, Verdi will negotiate a wage increase on behalf of industry workers with retail and e-commerce companies in the coming weeks, and this strike march is a "warning" to these companies to make them make more concessions in future negotiations.

Because his prestige and reputation as a trade union organization was at stake, Verdi worked very hard this time and recruited a large number of workers willing to participate in the strike from multiple sites in Rheinberg, Wehn, Koblenz, Leipzig and Bad Hersfeld.

I have searched the FBA warehouse numbers of these places for you. The affected warehouses will be DUS2, EDE4, EDE5, CGN1, LEJ1, FRA1, FRA3 , etc. In addition, there are not many warehouses in Germany, and these warehouses account for almost one-third of the total number .

Verdi's current demand is for Amazon to raise the wages of local warehouse workers by at least 4.5%. He said that Amazon has experienced many worker strikes in Germany demanding higher wages and treatment, and that these activities have become more and more powerful. Amazon will eventually compromise with workers and unions and improve the treatment of local workers.

Amazon responded quickly, saying it has provided excellent wages and benefits to local workers, and that in past strikes, at least 90% of employees at FBA warehouses were working normally. The official meaning is that you can make a fuss, it will not affect me much.

In fact, it is estimated that each warehouse has at least 4,000 employees. If 10% of the employees in each of the seven FBA warehouses participating in the strike are reduced, the number of strikers will reach 2,800, which is the level of more than half of a complete warehouse running away . Therefore, the FBA warehouses in these places will inevitably suffer setbacks in transportation capacity during the strike, and distribution, warehousing, and shelving will be affected.

In addition to the fact that sellers on the European site need to pay attention to order and warehousing delays recently, frequent strikes in Europe will definitely lead to an increase in the cost of hiring workers, which will be reflected in the increase in FBA fees for sellers. Therefore, it is necessary to plan early to adjust the profit margin.

It just so happens that an overseas data agency recently released the latest quarter's European and American consumer trend survey. Let me take a look at what you can use it for.

Online consumption trends in the first quarter

After experiencing last year's pandemic and the second outbreak at the beginning of this year, the consumption preferences of online consumers in Europe and the United States have also changed. Currently, the products that consumers most like to buy online are personal care and cleaning and groceries. At the same time, consumption on non-essential items such as clothing and electronic products has begun to decline.

In addition to the two popular categories mentioned above, there are also categories such as toys and games, and beauty that have increased by more than 10% (for a detailed report, you can scan the QR code at the end of the article to get it from me)

At the same time, consumers are also becoming polarized. The number of consumers who maintain their original consumption level is decreasing, while more and more people are willing to spend more or less money shopping online.

In online shopping, Amazon is still the preferred online shopping platform for buyers. 73% of online shoppers have purchased something on Amazon this quarter. If they can only choose one place to shop, nearly 60% of people will choose Amazon.

In the latest quarter, 37% of consumers said their online spending had increased compared to the end of last year, and even around 20% shopped online at least once a day, and 40% at least once a week.

This consumption report is quite detailed, including some sales forecasts for product categories and consumption trends, and is of great reference value in layout!
