Analysis of Mexican online shopping data: sales of multiple categories have increased!

It is learned that according to the latest research by the Mexican Association of Online Sales (AMVO), since 2022 as of February 3, Mexicans have significantly increased their spending on food, fashion, and electronic products, and credit cards have become the most commonly used payment method.

1. Mexican consumers’ favorite categories

According to AMVO's research, consumers spent the most on food, fashion and electronics, with sales increasing by 72%, 64% and 55% respectively.

In addition, sales of home appliances (47%), furniture and home decoration (42%), sports (40%) and tools (40%) also showed an upward trend. Online pharmacy sales increased by 30%, which was relatively stable.

It is worth noting that the growth rates of beverages (25%), automobiles (22%) and musical instruments (16%) began to slow down, with sales increasing slightly.


2. Payment methods most commonly used by Mexican consumers

When Mexicans make purchases online or in physical stores, they mainly pay with credit cards, accounting for 88%. Cash on delivery is second, accounting for 74%. Cash payment is third, accounting for 68%.
