ThredUP , a U.S. resale e-commerce platform, plans to open a new distribution center in Lancaster, Texas in 2022. The 600,000-square-foot facility will accommodate 10 million items , and ThredUP 's merchandise capacity will be expanded by 150% . The state-of-the-art facility will enable thredUP to further expand its operating platform and speed up resale transactions. According to Statista, the market size of ThredUP was $7 billion in 2019 and is expected to grow to $36 billion by 2024. “Once completed, thredUP’s new distribution center will provide a strong support network, the latest technology, software support and warehouse capacity, automation capabilities, and help accelerate resale sales,” said James Reinhart, co-founder and CEO of thredUP, in a statement. Rebelstork is a resale marketplace for overstocked and used baby products based in Canada. Canadian department store giant TheBay has entered the baby product resale market by partnering with Rebelstork. Starting September 26, Canadian buyers can visit Rebelstork directly through thebay.com to purchase used baby products.
