Should I choose a small company for my first job in Amazon operations?
The environment has a huge impact on people, especially for fresh graduates who have just entered the society. Comprehensive training can undoubtedly be a huge help. Generally speaking, the training of large companies will be more standardized and complete, but there are also many small and medium-sized companies that adopt a one-on-one training method within the group for new employees. However, due to various conditions, the quality of training is often uneven. Therefore, in my opinion, the most important thing is to choose a suitable position based on your own situation.

If you have no experience in cross-border e-commerce, then choosing a large or medium-sized company with more complete training is obviously a better choice. For cross-border e-commerce, large companies also represent a more complete supply chain system and a more mature operation method. Of course, the positions in large companies are usually very detailed, and the operation work is often subdivided into multiple links such as customer service, copywriting, and promotion. If you don’t take the initiative to understand it, it is difficult to get involved in the work of the complete operation process, and the substitutability is relatively high.

For students with strong learning and execution abilities, they can choose small and medium-sized companies. Currently, many small and medium-sized companies on Amazon are transforming into boutique companies. The compact staffing leads to an increase in workload, but at the same time, operations can also involve the entire process of product selection, advertising, shipping, and off-site operations. For students with clear goals, such a challenging job can more comprehensively improve operational capabilities. Only in this way can it be more helpful for future development.

Finally, for fresh graduates, you can try internships in different companies before graduation to get a better understanding of the actual situation of different companies. You can also interview with several companies, get several offers, and finally make a comprehensive comparison.
