More than 80% of people will shop! The popularity of "Cyber Week" in the United States is high!

According to the latest survey by market research firm Drive Research, more than 80% of American consumers will shop during this year's "Cyber Week" (from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, November 24 to November 28). Despite the unfavorable factors such as inflation, Americans are very enthusiastic about shopping during "Cyber Week".

The survey shows that one in five consumers plans to spend $1,000 or more, a 43% increase from 2021. In addition, 23% will spend $200 to $399 and 22% will spend $400 to $599. Clothing, electronics and toys will be the most popular categories during Cyber Week.

Compared with last year, the number of online shoppers during this year's Cyber Week has greatly increased. According to the survey, almost two-thirds (64%) of consumers will shop online, a significant increase of 42% year-on-year. Amazon and Target have become the most popular online shopping destinations.

Cyber Week became the second most popular shopping carnival in the United States, second only to Black Friday (69%). Millennials, Generation Y and Generation Z were the main online shopping groups during Cyber Week, accounting for 86% of the total population.

The survey also found that 47% of people will go to the store to shop, Walmart (62%) is the most popular physical retailer, followed by Target (58%) and other large shopping malls (34%). In addition, during the "Cyber Week", more than half of consumers will choose the "buy online, pick up in store" (BOPIS) function.

In addition, a survey from UserTesting, another market research company, found that Americans have a very high willingness to buy during this year's holiday season. Almost all (95%) consumers said they would shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday in 2022, and one-third of them planned to shop online and in-store at the same time. On the other hand, despite inflation, 31% of people plan to spend more than in previous years. 26% plan to spend the same as before, and 40% plan to spend less.
