The report said that as the shopping season approaches, the import volume in the United States is increasing, causing congestion and difficulties at major ports across the country. According to Bloomberg research, the number of containers at the top three ports in the United States has piled up since July this year.

Gene Seroka, executive director of the Port of Los Angeles, said major U.S. ports are "overcrowded" and there is not enough space to unload ships full of cargo. Adding to the headache is that imports have been increasing and warehouses are almost unable to accommodate the cargo.

Gene Seroka further stated that retailers should allow consumers to complete holiday shopping in advance to ease port congestion. It is understood that recently, retailers such as Amazon, Target, and Walmart have advanced their holiday promotions.
